Curls That Hold Their Own

Jerry curl is a tight, springy, well-defined curl — named for the tight ringlets that look like coiled metal springs. It's the curl pattern that most closely resembles healthy, well-defined 3C hair, and it's one of the most requested textures we make.

What makes jerry curl different from other curly textures is structure. These curls have a memory — they spring back into their shape after being brushed, compressed, or worn under a hat, which means they look put-together without much effort.

Our Jerry Curl Options

  • 13x4 lace front — the most versatile. See our 13x4 lace front wigs.
  • 4x4 closure — a defined parting area, lower price. See our 4x4 closure wigs.
  • 180% and 210% density.
  • 8–14 inch lengths.
  • Natural black.

Defining the Curls

Jerry curl needs one thing: moisture. Because the pattern is tight and defined, the curls clump without product — which is exactly what you don't want.

Our routine in the workshop:

1. Leave-in conditioner sprayed through damp hair, focused on the ends.

2. A very light mousse — a heavy mousse flattens jerry curl.

3. Scrunch upward in sections, never comb the hair down.

4. Diffuse on low, or air-dry if you have the time.

Once the pattern is set, it holds for days. There's no need to restyle it every morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Jerry curl is a defined, bouncy spiral pattern; kinky is looser, coarser, and more irregular. If you have 4C hair, our kinky and afro collection is the better match. For 3C, jerry curl.

Better than most curly textures — the pattern has real structure, so it springs back. Expect a little frizz and some stretch that recovers with a wash and scrunch.

Mousse, not heavy cream. Apply a light layer while damp, scrunch, and let it dry fully before touching it. Never brush dry.

Less than you'd think. A light mousse and leave-in are enough. Heavy oils flatten the curl and are hard to wash out.
